The Japan Media Arts Festival will screen a program at The Cape Town Animation Festival 2017, the largest event dedicated to the art and business of animation in Southern Africa, which takes place in Cape Town from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th March.

About The Cape Town International Animation Festival 2017
The Cape Town International Animation Festival 2017 is an international event hosted by the non-profit organization, Animation SA (Animation South Africa) and this year is the sixth time that it has been held. The gateway for African animation, in 2016 the keynote address was made by a film director nominated for an Academy Award and more than 850 visitors from around the world participated. The festival includes animation screenings, workshops and various networking events. An educational project called Animate Africa will start in 2017. There will also be a special focus on Japan with the keynote address presented this time by Shuzo SHIOTA of President/CEO Polygon Pictures and a screening of Miss Hokusai, the jury recommendation in the Animation Division of the 19th Japan Media Arts Festival.
