KUTSUSHITA Nugiko

KUTSUSHITA is a manga artist who was born in Tokyo. In 2015, she debuted with Koi no Owarini (lit. At the End
of Love) in the magazine Monthly Comic Ryū. She wrote Soware Gakkyu (lit. Soires classroom), which was
published by Tokuma Shoten. In 2019, she started listing Omoeba Tokuni Obscura (lit. A Lens So Far Away) in
Elegance Eve, a manga magazine published by Akita Publishing. This work was selected in the 25th Japan Media
Arts Festival Manga Division Jury Selections. Like the main character in Omoeba Tokuni Obscura (lit. A Lens So
Far Away), KUTSUSHITA herself has experienced moving to the Netherlands and Germany.

28-year-old KATAZUME Aki is a freelance photographer who immigrated to Berlin, despite having no dreams or ambitions. Losing her home in a fire, she was forced to choose her next home and chose Germany because her favorite camera lens is from that country. As Aki meets people from Germany and her roommates who are full of dreams and come from different situations, the story talks about the lifestyle, customs and food in Germany and nearby countries. It’s a vividly written story of Aki’s experiences.
